Tips on choosing the best time server product for my business.
The synchronization of time is crucial when your goal is to have near exact time on a network of precise machines. This is where network time protocol (NTP) comes into play. Businesses needs relating to time servers vary based on multiple aspects of their business, such as size, what they're using it for, how important is time in their specific scenario, among many other reasons. The two TimeMachines time server products are about as compact as they get, coming in at a whopping 4.75" x 4 x 1.125". These products make it easy to place into a single or double rack card cage, for better technology organization. With our TM1000A product, when it's on the local network, (S)NTP time packets are used so you don't have to go to the internet for a Stratum 1 time sync. It will use a GPS antenna that maintains current time, conveniently broadcasted by USA GPS satellites. Same goes for our newest model, the TM2000A, which adds an OCXO reference clock, in order to serve time if for some reason GPS lock is lost. Both time servers are great, it really just depends on how important your time is and if you would require the added OCXO, for potential periods of time lost.

As most of us know, technology brings a lot of fun to life, but in this case, StrikeFirst also brings timing and scoring accuracy to the sport of Taekwondo. Tips/info for your WiFi Clock Setup.
By default the network parameters are setup up using DHCP. In order to set static values, uncheck the DHCP check box and enter new values in the address fields. If the values aren't changed the current addresses will be kept. The TMPC must be restarted for these changes to take affect. Addresses in the Network section must be entered in Ipv4, dotted quad, format. Both IPv4 and IPv6 are supported for static and DHCP setup. Set the parameters to match your network setup. The clock generates a link local IPv6 address and will autoconfigure an IP address based on the router's subnet so no information needs to be supplied, however if the user has a specific IP address the clock should use, it can be entered into the IPv6 input box.
